ABOUT MONIQUE

Hi! I’m Monique Atherton, the founder of Monique Arun.

Arun means “dawn” in Thai which references my roots in Bangkok and to the fresh starts I help others create. I grew up surrounded by a vibrant mix of cultures and stories, which gave me an early appreciation for both beauty and possibility. That spirit has guided me through a life that’s taken me across industries, countries and experiences.

After moving to the US, I got my first job working at a brokerage firm while attending college at night. Over the next two decades, I built experience in finance, international trade, and higher education. Along the way, I earned my MFA in photography, maintained a decade-long professional art practice, taught at the university level for three years, and mentored students and young entrepreneurs.

For many years, I chased the elusive perfect work-life balance. Now that I’ve found it, I help others create it for themselves.
